An adorable video has been shared by a police department after an officer saved a baby deer which had become stuck in a storm drain.
The tiny, stricken fawn looked forlorn in the hole under a road in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey.
Luckily for the terrified deer, Officer Tim Majek from Woodbridge Police Department came to its rescue as a colleague filmed the cute scene.
Officer Majek bent down and lowered himself into the storm drain, which the baby deer must have fallen into as the grate had been slid open.
Despite the officer’s slow and calm movements the fawn began to panic as he entered its mini prison.
It started to try to climb the sides of the drain, bouncing off the walls as it skittered around, searching desperately for a way to escape.

When Officer Majek gently picked the baby animal up with his hands, it bleated in fear.
Officer Majek spoke soothing words to calm the fawn as he clambered out of the drain.
Stroking its head, he said: ‘Come on, baby.’
Posting the video on Facebook, Woodbridge Police Department said: ‘Officer Tim Majek saves his third deer.
‘Way to go. This one is a cutie.’
